Mouse Mat – The Kingfisher

The wonderful Kingfisher design is now available on a mousemat a perfect gift to brighten up any office.

This beautiful bird, the kingfisher, is one of the few tropical looking birds with its bright blue and orange plumage, which is native to the U.K. Being elusive and rarely spotted in its native riverside habitat, I wanted to create it a perfect waterside home on this card, one of my new nature card collection.

Perching on a tree trunk, he has caught a fish in his beak. Birds, butterflies and dragonflies hover around also looking for a chance to feed. The kingfisher is hand painted in water-colours with an opaque skin print pattern over-laying its feathers. The plants and trees framing this scene, such as the willow, grasses, reeds and lilies are a combination of hand painted images and those created in Illustrator. This unique design is one of The Natural Wildlife collection of cards as well as available as a mounted art print.
