Happy Birthday – Lily of the Valley Card
Lily of the Valley has always been a favourite for bouquets and special occasions as it symbolises purity, love, sincerity, happiness and luck. It’s actually the national flower of Finland, and in France, on 1st May for La Fête du Muguet, lily of the valleys are gifted to loved ones. It’s not only known for its perfect white bells but also for it’s beautiful scent, and it was Queen Elizabeth’s favourite flower.
In this pretty design of hand-painted flowers the Lily of the Valley is intertwined, with a blue Clematis flower head and the delicate blue Forget-Me-Nots, another flower symbolising love, respect and faithfulness. Being a textile designer I love creating all over patterns that in repeat make such pleasingly pretty designs. Printed on a linen textured card it has the to look and feel of fabric!
