Swans Lake Card

Swans are an iconic British Bird found on most ponds and lakes, and as we all know the mute swans are protected by the Queen. This beautiful white bird is a symbol of perfection with it’s unique shape that simply glides across the water and deserves to be in my Natural Wildlife Collection of Card Designs. To Illustrate that serenity I have created a romantic, idyllic scene in which these birds can parade their beauty. The swans are hand drawn and coloured with soft coloured pencil to keep that delicate plumage in shape. There is no mistaking that amazingly long curving neck rising to the black framed menacing eyes and strong orange beak. Hand painted primroses and Spring flowers mix with tall grasses, reeds and willow, floating on a dusty ombre purple water, settling to a muted landscape on the horizon. All the images created in Illustrator and hand painted are all brought together in Photoshop. This card provokes many moods it can be to celebrate a Birthday, Anniversary or because of its calmness of subject and colour makes a perfect Sympathy card too!
